March Favorites

It's that time of the month again! Monthly favorites times, and this time it's March favorites<3 I cannot believe that this month is coming to a close, another month down and one more to go till the big move. For those who don't know I am an Army wife, and we are moving the end of April. Hubby is going to Korea, and our son and I are going back to Arizona while he is over there. Anyways, back to the monthly favorites. I am just basically adding on to last month's favorites in a way because I still love and use everything from last month lol. If you're interested in seeing what I loved this month then keep on reading :)

Starting of with skincare/makeup removers.
Neutrogena Cleansing Wipes: These are my every day makeup remover wipes. I love these because they are so convenient to take off my makeup when I'm just trying out a look or doing some swatches. They don't have an overbearing smell, and tend to make my face feel nice and smooth after use.
Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover: I have gone through about 2 of these because they definitely last you a good while. I tend to use these after a long day of wearing any eye makeup. They tend to leave my eye lids feeling a bit oily but I can definitely deal with that lol.
Yes to Tomatoes Facial Pads: These pads are a great way to make sure I get any left over residue off of my face after cleansing it. The Yes to Tomatoes is designed specifically for acne prone skin which I have.
Olay Active Hydrating Cream: This is my holy grail moisturizer. I tend to be on the dry side when it comes to my face and this definitely helps keep my face feeling nice and moisturized throughout the day. I always pop this on after cleaning my face.
Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Cleanser: I got this is my March Birchbox and I am absolutely loving it. I am placing an order for the full sized one tomorrow. This little sample size has lasted me a good week and a half and I still have a good bit left to use up while waiting for the full sized one to get in. Now I have tried MANY acne cleansers and this one so far has been the best for my skin. It hasn't made me break out after using it. It has been slowly clearing up my acne and it doesn't give me any burning sensation after use like other acne cleansers. Definitely close to getting on my HG list.
Yes to Tomatoes Acne Spot Stick: I use this to roll onto any spots that I have and by the next day they have either reduced down to almost nothing or disappear completely! Best so far lol.

Now for makeup products! Starting with the face of course.
Too Faced Primed and Poreless: This baby has been helping with my huge pores lol. I love to apply this before using anything on my face. It reduces the size of my pores tremendously! My friend gave this to me to try out since I was having no real luck with any other primers and this has definitely helped me out.
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra in Bisque 8: I love this foundation! It is so light weight in my personal opinion. It says "no fading and no retouching" In my opinion this is definitely true. When I decided to wear foundation that day this is one that I reach for if I am going all day with it on my face. This is a perfect match for my skin tone which makes me happy because for some reason I have a lot of trouble trying to match my tone lol. This is on the pricey side but I think it is definitely worth it, and it is a 1.0 fl oz bottle so it will last a good while because all you need is maybe 3 pumps at most and done lol.
Benefit Erase Paste No. 2: Now being a mom of a rambunctious little 2 year old boy I don't get too much sleep so my bags are horrendous. This definitely corrects the color under my eyes before my concealer and I am good to go. I don't have to worry about looking tired when I go somewhere lol.
NYX Stick Blush in Hibiscus: I LOVE THIS BLUSH! It glides on so nice and blends out amazingly. I am ready to go out and buy all of them!

Now for the eyes.
Wet n Wild Brow Kit in Ash Brown: I use the lighter shade in this kit for my brows. The staying power is a lot better than my brow pencils so that makes me happy! It's definitely inexpensive and you can find it at any drugstore.
NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk: I love using this for a base. It makes colors pop a lot better on my eyes. I depotted it from the pencil form and placed it in a little sample jar. I find it a lot easier because you don't have to sit there and sharpen the pencil or worry about wasting any left over product. There's tons of YouTube videos on how to depot them if you'd like to see how it's done.
MAC Painterly Paint Pot: I have had this base for a while now and I love using it almost every time I wear eyeshadow! It blends out amazingly and keeps shadows from creasing.
MAC Pigments: Now I love the teal pigment. It's a beautiful green color! Then there's the crushed metallic pigments that are from the Vera Collection. Yes there is a ton of fallout but that's ok as long as you apply your face makeup beforehand so you can just brush it away.
Urban Decay 24/7 Shadow Pencil in Sin: Hands down Sin is one of my most favorite color from Urban Decay. I have 3 palettes that have this color in it so I don't see myself running out of it for a couple months lol. This is a great color to put as a highlight on your brow bone and inner tear duct.
Maybelline Falsies Mascara: This is one of my drugstore HG mascaras! I absolutely love it. It holds my curl and gives me great volume.
Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden: I absolutely love UDPP and Eden is amazing! It has a matte finish to it.

Now for the lips.

Bite Luminous Creme Lipstick in Fig: This is a gorgeous pinky shade. I got this in the lipstick set from Bite at Sephora. I wanted to branch out to other lipsticks and this is by far my favorite one from Bite. It's so nice and creamy, and definitely pigmented.
MAC Lipstick in Myth: I love nude lips, they are my go to for every day lips. Myth has become one of my most recent favorites. Like most MAC lipstick it goes on nice and smooth. It has a nice satin finish to it.
MAC Lipstick in Peachstock: Now I have been trying to hunt this dang lipstick down until I one day my friend said she'd give it to me since it doesn't work for her. This is a nice peachy nude and has a satin finish.
MAC Viva Glam Gaga I: I love this pink. It's a nice cotton candy pink, and is a lustre finish.
mark. Ibiza Sol Marbleized Lip Gloss in Chica Coral: Over a nude lip this coral just stands out so nicely and gives you that nice glossy finish without the sticky lips. I have just started to get back into lip glosses because I love that nice shine you get lol.
Make Up For Ever Lip Line Perfector: This is one amazing lip liner. It goes on clear and keeps lipstick from fading outward.
mark. glow baby glow Lip Gloss in Girly Girl: This lip gloss has a nice pinky tone to it but it is definitely not a massively in your face pink. If you're interested I have a mark. tab that has a link to my eBoutique :)
eos lip balm in Lemon: eos is hands down one of my most favorite lip balms. It keeps my lips nice and hydrated throughout a good part of the day.

On to my favorite palettes of the month!

Sugarpill Sweet Heart Palette: I love both of my sugarpill palettes but I use this one more than the other lol. These shadows are so pigmented and blend so well. I have a full review on it if you're interested.
Coastal Scents Eclipse Concealer Palette: I love this palette because you can mix different shades of concealer to get your match. They are so nice and creamy. I don't think I'll be running out of concealer any time soon!
Coastal Scents Creative Me Palette #1: I got this palette because it has amazing colors. It is filled with the Coastal Scents hot pots so you can always change them out or if you hit pan with one color you can buy another and replace it easily which is definitely very convenient. These color blend so nicely and are very pigmented in my opinion.
Coastal Scents 10 Color Blush Palette: I got this palette so I can start building up a blush collection and thought this would be perfect to get me started. I absolutely love it with all the color variety. From pinks to peachy to brownish colors, this is great for anyone who is just getting started with makeup.

Last but certainly not least my little miscellaneous items.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray: I cannot even begin to describe my love for Urban Decay. And their all nighter spray is definitely one of my most favorite products from them. This spray keeps my makeup in place with no melting off whatsoever. It claims to keep makeup lasting for 16 hours and so far I have used this and had makeup last me for 10 hours because I never keep makeup on for more than half the day lol.
Blender Cleanser: Not only is this cleanser great for your beauty blender, it works amazingly for brushes as well. I have had this for over a month and a half, and just now got to almost half full. It makes my brushes feel so soft and look so clean after their weekly deep cleansing!
Brush Guards: A couple months ago my friend told me that Walmart has started selling The Brush Guards so I had to get me a pack to try it out! I love them, they have made my brushes look like they did when I first got them and some of them look even better than that. Needless to say that I have been going back to Walmart almost every chance I get to buy more but they're always sold out!

Well that's my monthly favorites, I hoped you enjoyed reading this post. Be on the lookout for my Collection Overview and Series within the next few days! Till next time ^_^

Haul

So today I got 2 packages! One from USPS and the other from UPS, these made me an extremely happy person today lol. If you're interested in seeing what I got then keep on reading....

I got a ton of goodies lol, at least to me it's a ton. In a recent swap I was able to score the Nars Danmari "All about Cheeks" Blush Palette! Then I decided to also try out another Nars blush from Sephora, luckily they had a VIB code for a Nars Travel Sized Trio. Of course I got some samples that I have been wanting to try out. In the trio you get, a Nars Laguna Bronzer, Illuminator in Copacabana, and a Nars Eyeshadow Base.

Lets start with the samples. I chose the Dior Hydra Life BB Cream. BB Creams originated in Asia. Basically it is a Foundation and Moisturizer Cream in one. I tried it out and now I am in LOVE with it. Many companies are now coming out with BB Creams. To name a few there's Too Faced, Smashbox, Clinque, Dior, Boscia, etc. You can find them at Sephora. I am definitely getting the Dior full sized tube. Next I got the Nars tinted moisturizer. With summer coming up I am definitely looking into tinted moisturizers instead of normal foundations. Lastly I got a Ouidad Leave In Conditioner. Now I have never tried any leave in conditioners besides my Wen sample from MyGlam. I am definitely looking forward to giving this a try.

Now on to the Nars goodies :)

We have the Nars Danmari Palette. Oh this was love at first sight. I am just getting into blushes and this was a smart investment for me. I love blush palettes, I own 1 coastal scents and 1 bh cosmetics one. Then there's the Laguna Bronzer and the Exhibit A Blush.

Hungry Heart is a nice little highlight color. It's a creamy yellowish tint with gold shimmers.
Orgasm, we all know what this looks like, it's one of the famous Nars blushes. It a nice peachy pink shade with gold shimmer.
Desire is a bright pink cotton candy shade.
Exhibit A is a bright red color.
Casino is a nice dark brown bronzer again with gold shimmer.
Super Orgasm is a peachy pink shade with gold glitter.
Sin is a berry shade with gold shimmer.
Laguna is a lighter brown shade with gold shimmer
Copacabana is a nice pearly shimmery illuminator.

Now the reason I have a new love for Nars, the colors are so nicely pigmented. Yes they are at first a bit scary because they're so pigmented but they blend out so well and give you that nice touch of color to the cheeks. They have a nice soft feel to them, they don't have a massive powdery feeling to them like some blushes do. Now the packaging feels all rubbery on the outside, so it tends to get a lot more dirty and catches oils easily, but they're very durable.

Well I hoped you enjoyed this little haul. Till next time ^_^

Colorful Spring Tips

Don't know what color to choose? Go all out and use them all^_^ If you're interested in seeing what I did and what I used then keep on reading....

So I was sitting at my desk trying to decide what color to paint my nails, when I just decided to some colorful tips. Especially with it being Spring and Easter coming up I wanted go all out color. I've never been one to venture into color but as I am getting more comfortable with what I can do I am more courageous to try lol. So I took some colors and did the tips of my nails. Now you can do it free hand or if you have some tape lying around you can use that. Personally I used tape because I am just that much of a perfectionist sometimes lol.

Here's what I used, from L-R: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Mellow Yellow and Coral Reef, OPI Nicki Minaj Mini in Did It On 'Em, Essie Lapiz of Luxury and Play Date, and topped it off with my Seche Vite Top Coat.

If you liked this and want to see more just leave a comment below. Till next time^_^

Nail Polish

So today I decided to do something different. It's my review on Butter London/Nail Tutorial. If you'd like to see just keep on reading:)

So the things I used were, Sally Hansen Maximum Growth as a Base Coat, Butter London Nail Lacquers in Slapper and Trout Pout, then my Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

I am sure we've all seen Butter London Nail Lacquers around at Ulta. That's where I got mine at least. Now the price tag is horrendous for a nail polish but like the saying goes, "You get what you pay for" and with this product you do. It glides on smoothly, and applies pretty thick after just 2 coats. I definitely love this product, but with the price I don't see myself owning too many. Butter London costs $14 at Ulta for 11 ml. - .4 fl oz. Compared to Essie which can range anywhere between $6-$9 for a 13.5 ml. - .46 fl oz. bottle, or OPI that ranges from $4-$9, depending on where you shop, for a 15 ml. - 0.5 fl. oz. If you're the type of person who doesn't want to spend much on nail polish but want a good quality one, I'd suggest Sinful Colors which runs from $2-$4, again depending on where you shop, for a 15 ml. - 0.5 fl. oz. bottle.

I have a wide range off nail polishes. Sinful Colors, ICE, Essie, OPI, Sally Hansen, etc. I just love them all. Just like face makeup, in my opinion, another way of expressing art with a very wide variety of colors. It just depends on how you use it all. Now for the tutorial part of this post.

I know many of you probably know how to do this but for those of you just starting out with nails, all you have to do is paint one half of your nail one color, and the other half another color. Try to get where the 2 colors meet in the center. Apply a top coat and done ^_^ Simple right?

Now if you want glitter down the middle, just take a stripper brush and apply. Then top coat and done. I hope you enjoyed this post^_^

Haul! Urban Decay FF Sale

So for those of you who are avid UD buyers, you'd know that they had their Friends&Family Spring 2012 Sale these past couple days. I, of course had to jump on this because I LOVE  all things Urban Decay lol. So if you're interested in seeing this haul, and a mini review on each item, please keep on reading.

I decided to go with some items that were already on sale:) that way I can get them even cheaper lol. I went with the Little Sin Primer Set, Fun Palette, and the infamous Book of Shadows IV. I am pretty happy with my purchase. I've been wanting to try out the other primers that UD has, just didn't want to get full sized ones because of the fear that I would not like them. I've been back and forth about the BOS IV though, but since they had the sale, I figured I'd go for it. Now the Fun Palette was the one I've originally wanted because the colors:)

First up the Little Sins Primer Set. I absolutely love all of them. I am definitely going to purchase full sized ones, unless I can find a swap for them. These little bottles are definitely a good investment if you're looking to just try out UD's eye primers.

On the packaging it says "Consider these the four sins you should commit. Our four Eyeshadow Primer Potions are unbelievable for smoother, longer-lasting, and absolutely crease-proof shadow. This set is a must-have for any serious or aspiring primer junkie. Inside, each travel-size potion does more than grip eye color"

I have been using the original sin primer potion for a year now, and I love it. Now all of these primers are definitely going on my favorites list.

Original Primer potion blends out invisible and acts as just a normal primer.
Sin Primer Potion has a shimmery champagne finish, and can double as a highlight. Just like their shadow called Sin.
Eden has a nice matte finish to it. It can even out your skin tone, and brighten for a younger look.
Greed which is exclusive to this set is a shimmery gold finish. This can also double as a highlight and add a metallic sheen to your look.

Now as much as I love the primer potions, I will definitely not get this type of packaging again. I like their squeeze tubes a lot better! With the genie bottle packaging you can end up wasting product if you don't break open the packaging and scoop out the left over product. But other than that UD has an avid customer in me for their primer potions:)

Long-lasting ability: 4 out of 5

Will definitely buy again in squeeze tube packaging!

On to the Fun Palette. I chose this palette because of the variety of color in it. It's also a plus to get another Sin shadow since it is one of my all time favorites from UD. They had a feminine palette and a dangerous palette but no longer have them available on their website. This comes with a travel size Original Primer Potion, which I have tons of now lol, and a travel size 24/7 Eyeliner in Oil Slick.

It has a pretty standard packaging. Cardboard with a magnet to keep it shut. Nothing fancy there. The design on the front is filled with pinks, yellow, and orange. It's definitely a "fun" design. The inside is yellow and purple. It's cute and creative in my opinion.

Woodstock is a bright pink with shimmer in it.
Baked is a shimmery gold, a well known color that is in almost EVERY palette from UD lol.
Uzi is a silver color with silver glitter, my least favorite of the colors. I'm just not into glitters.
Sin, of course, is a shimmery champagne color, perfect for highlighting.
Flipside is a blue shimmer color, for some reason my camera flash decided to wash out the blue.
Psychedelic Sister is a purple shimmer color.

Overall I am loving this palette and plan on looking for the other 2 in swaps.

Will definitely buy again if available!

Now onto the infamous Book of Shadows IV. The packaging is horrendously unnecessary in my personal opinion. It takes up way too much space because it is bulky. There's too much packaging for the products. A simple packaging similar to their fun palette would've sufficed for me. This palette comes with 16 shadows, a 24/7 Liquid Liner in Perversion, UD Supercurl Curling Mascara, a squeeze tube of Original Primer Potion, and some gadgets that I believe are unnecessary. It has a little speaker you can plug your phone into with the wires they provided. And a card that has QR codes you can use to get How To videos for the palette. I think that is a cool idea but why makes this such a huge box?

As for the pigmentation of the colors I'd say they're pretty darn good. I mean of course this is Urban Decay we are talking about and I have yet to have any pigment issues with their shadows that I do have. They have a nice creamy feel to them, and blend easily. I love the variety because you can do a neutral look or a bold look. And of course they're all shimmery colors.

Won't be buying again because there's just no need and we all know they're will probably be another BOS with similar if not the exact same shadows.

Review Time! Sigma Mr. Bunny Black Essential Kit

A couple weeks ago I received my Sigma Mr. Bunny Brush Kit, and wanted to wait a couple weeks of use to do this review. This kit costs, $109 online at www.sigmabeauty.com. This product is definitely worth the price in my opinion. If you'd like to know why I think that then keep on reading^_^

You get 2 Sigma Brush Cup Holder in Black that stack into a travel case for your brushes. You get a total of 12 brushes. They come protected by their little plastic guards and wrapped up for extra protection. These brushes are so soft to the touch. I was afraid to wash them because I didn't want them to lose that softens, but they were just fine after their first wash. They have the new Sigmax HD bristles, these were made so that you can apply flawless makeup and they don't absorb any extra product. Another wonderful thing about these brushes are that they are Vegan Friendly!!

You get 5 face brushes in this kit.

Information from www.sigmabeauty.com

F30 Large Powder Brush I love using this brush for my setting powder. It applies the product so well and doesn't mess up my foundation.
F40 Large Angled Contour Brush I love to use this to contour my face, it gives it a nice blended finish and doesn't make my contours look fake.
F50 Duo Fibre This is designed to give you that airbrushed finish when used. I use this to stipple on both my cream and powder blushes.
F60 Foundation Brush Everyone knows what this brush is for lol. I use this on occassion to apply my foundation. The wonderful thing about this brush is that it doesn't make it look streaky like most foundation brushes do.
F70 Concealer Brush And of course this brush is used to apply your concealer. Applying concealer with this brush in a patting motion gives you that flawless under eye look.

Face Brushes L-R: F70, F60, F50, F40, and F30

You also get 7 eye brushes in this kit.

E05 Eyeliner Brush The name says it all. This brush is stiff enough to give you that nice liner look. Whether it be an thick wing of a slim close to the lashes line. I definitely use this brush a lot for my gel liner.
E30 Pencil Brush Now I have the other original pencil brush from sigma and hands down the Mr Bunny one is the best! It is stiff to get that nice cut crease look and soft enough to lightly blend out shadows in the lower lash line.
E40 Tapered Blending Brush Ahh blending, a girl's BESTFRIEND! lol I have a random rant about blending but we will not get into that right now. This brush is definitely ideal for blending out crease, outer V, and brow bone shadows. It's nice and dense so you can lightly blend out products.
E55 Eye Shading Brush This brush is best used to apply shadow to the lids of course lol. It's stiff enough to pack on the shadows for a nice intense lid.
E60 Large Shader Brush This is best for those cream shadows applied to the lid. It won't pick up too much product. Or you can use this with Fix+ or some type of mixing medium for that nice foil look on the lids.
E65 Small Angle Brush Another great liner brush. I use this for a nice winged out liner because it gives that perfect flick at the end for me.
E70 Medium Angled Shading Brush I love this brush for blending out my crease colors. The angle gives you that wonderful blend from inner to outer.

Eye Brushes from L-R: E70, E65, E60, E55, E40, E30, and E05

Now for spending $30 or more you get a free gift. I was lucky enough to get the travel size of the E25 Blending Brush. Hands down an AMAZING blending brush. I am going to purchase the full sized one soon:) I hope you enjoyed this review, and found it helpful. It's always a great idea to splurge on your makeup brushes for a reasonable splurge price lol. Makeup brushes can last you a good couple of years as long as you properly take care of them. I'll do a post on how I care for my brushes soon. I just gotta bribe my husband into taking the pictures for me lol. Well until next time^_^

Review Time! Sugarpill Quads

About a little while ago I got my Sugarpill order in the mail! Whooo lol. If you're interested in my review then keep on reading.

When I first opened the box, I fell in love with the packaging. The case is magnetic which I love because it makes it a lot easier to open. It's pretty durable too. It was put through the toddler test lol. My son got a hold of my burning heart palette and ran off with it. He threw it and like always attempted to rip the packaging, but failed to do so lol. None of the shadows cracked either. So far Sugarpill has a thumbs up on the packaging!

My friend taught me how to depot the shadows. The backing is a sticker not printed on. All you do is peel back the sticker, and there are little holes you can push the pans out throught with something small. Now that is genius in my book. Then people don't have to worry about destroying the pretty packaging lol. The pans are not glued in, they are held by the magnet that also keeps the package secure, and closed.

Now on to the quality of the shadows. Hands down these shadows are kinda hard to beat! They're nice and pigmented. Normally yellows are hard to show up on me but this yellow does, which makes me happy:) They are nice and smooth, and blend out great. I wish they'd come out with more pressed powders because I am definitely a fan.

These are swatches of the Burning Heart Palette. The colors are nicely pigmented and if you were to add a primer underneath, it makes it stand out even nicer. The feel and texture of the shadows are great on my lids.

These are swatches from the Sweet Heart Palette. Now I know these colors are pretty out there, but it's always nice to add a dash of color to your look. Especially since Spring is just around the corner. I'll definitely be using these for some fun Spring and Summer looks, so be on the lookout for those.

Now the price, for the palettes they are $34 each. For some that is a bit pricey but I think it's a great deal. Each shadow individually is $12, so for 4 it's $48. I definitely will buy individuals when I start to hit pan because for me I feel i'll use some more than others. And I'm definitely going to get some of their loose shadows. I got a sample of Goldilux and fell in love with that too. The only thing I'd like to see is them come out with more colors in the pressed shadows, but other than that keep up the amazing job Sugarpill!! You've got a loyal customer in me<3 Till next time^_^
